The Duquesne Duke

The Duquesne Duke, the student newspaper of Duquesne University, published its first issue on March 5, 1925. Except for a brief interruption in the 1940's, the Duke has been continuously published since that time. Presented here in full-text searchable format, the Duke includes all available issues from 1925-2010. The text for each issue may vary based on the quality of the microfilm from which this digital copy has been produced. In Duquesne's history, four other publications served a role similar to the Duke in communicating news about the university. The titles include the following:

  • Holy Ghost College Bulletin from 1894 to 1901
  • Pittsburg College Bulletin from 1902 to 1911
  • Duquesne Monthly from 1911 to 1928
  • Duquesne Durational (published in place of the Duke during World War II)

Featured collection:

"Doors" by Dr. John "Jack" Vazzana (BA 1968, MA 1969) Original drawings first appearing in the Duke, "Doors" captures the social zeitgeist of Duquesne university in the late 1960's.
